To be honest, I didn't see the point of writing a book.

When I sat down to write this book, I was at a point in my life when I couldn't see how I could possibly help or encourage anyone in their Christian walk. I felt that I was the one who needed strengthening and encouragement in continuing on in my walk of faith.

As I sat down to write, my life seemed to be falling to pieces around me. It seemed that everything (and I don't say that lightly) seemed to be shaking around me.

And it was in this place and season of my life that I felt the Lord wanted me to write. To write about the process and journey of destiny we walk as overcomers in Christ. To write about how the Lord isn't quite as distant as He may seem at times. To write about how the Lord has a plan - a destiny - for each of us.

Everything I was going though was completely foreign to me at the time: I'd never been shaken as severely in life before. I'd never had the Lord revealy so many new things to me that contradicted my previous perceptions. And I'd never written a book before.

But the feedback that I've received from many of the people who have read the book has been nothing short of amazing (and humbling).

I've had so many people tell me that it was the exact book they needed at the time, that I'm beginning to think that it could be a current word (maybe even a "word in season") for many in the Body of Christ.

Others have commented on how easy it was to read, and how seemingly complex ideas were reduced to a state of simplicity due to the clarity of the book's writing.

Some said that while a few of the things addressed in the book confirmed thoughts and ideas that they previously had, they were impressed with the new insights and fresh perspectives contained in the book.

But do you want to know what I hear the most?

The two things that I hear the most are:

  1. "I loved how much scripture you used in the book", and
  2. "You have a lot of wisdom for someone your age" (I finished writing the book when I was 25)

I love to hear both, because I think it gives God all the glory for the book.

Number One, because we need our focus to be drawn to God and His Word, and

Number Two, because I feel that I'm a pretty simple guy. So it had to be the Lord giving me the words for this book!

There were times when I was writing, that I literally didn't know or realize what I was writing. I was shocked that it made sense, and was even more surprised when what I had written was validated by scripture and ruined my past thoughts and ideas of what was true.

Want to know some of the specifics of what the book talks about?

Well, here are just a few things:

It reveals how the Lord has a specific plan of destiny designed for your life and how you are not a "mistake"

It lays out a detailed blue-print of how the Lord can lead you into the specific destiny He has for you

It uncovers some of the common stumbling blocks that nobody wants to talk about, but that everyone faces, and how (more importantly) you can overcome them

It explains how you can discern and clarify what you are called to and what God's will for your life is

It walks you step-by-step through the whole process of destiny; taking you from the mountaintop fires of revival through the wilderness and into your promised land of destiny

Not only that, but I've included a few of the lessons that I've learned during this difficult time in my life (the wilderness season) which will help to:

Give you insight into some of the experiences you may encounter in a "wilderness season" on the road of destiny

Practically show you how you can increase the depth of your relationship with the Lord and enter into a personal revival (or, a "revival of one")

Help you understand and come to grips with the timing of when and how things happen in your life

Having written this book, if I could have anything come from it, here are a few of the things I'd like to see accomplished:

  1. That people would be moved further along the path of destiny that the Lord has for them, and that they would receive insight, clarity, and wisdom into exactly what their specific destiny is.
  2. That those who feel frustrated, tired, or abandoned in their Christian walk would be able to find hope, and in doing so, have their eyes lifted up and onto their loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
  3. That people would be drawn into a deeper (and permanent) relationship - a personal revival, even - with Jesus Christ to where they fall hopelessly in love with the Lord and walk as overcomers in Christ.
If the Lord wants to do more than that, I would readily welcome it. But, I figure that if He would achieve the few things I listed above for His glory, it would be a good start!
